2020 – International Performance Art Giswil (OW)
This performance is inspired by the Tarot card of the Priestess.
When viewers arrive in front of the Turbinehall they see a figure wearing a white shirt and a black hat cleaning the square with a broom. While the other performances succeed one after the other inside the Turbinehall the figure paints on the yard lines of the same size and colour as the parking lot lines. The geometric shape of the parking is no longer visible and in their place there is a new geometric structure.
Then the figure faces the main door of the building and tells to the audience who is inside: “I have a doubt!”.
When the audience has got close enough, the figure takes off her hat and the long black hair is revealed.
The figure pulls a brush out of her pocket and starts brushing her hair while saying the following text:
You walk hand-in-hand with someone you’ve never met before along organized streets in a residential neighborhood in a city you’ve never been before on whatever day. In front of the single-family houses that look all the same, luxury convertible cars with leather interiors. You decide to have a family picture taken right in front of one of those houses with a son that is not yours with a dog that doesn’t belong to you next to a car you’ve never drive you worry that the person that is with you has a fashionable haircut that wear branded clothes you want to be holded thight you want to be kisses you want all his attention at that moment someone interrupt you. A woman claim her son a stranger drives away the car the person who was by your side goes away with the dog. You are alone on the sidewalk and you feel uncertain but suddently you notice something: a doubt. Then someone offers you a bucket of dirt, a flower, a gardening book, everything return to normality and you don’t know why but you feel happy again you want to cultivate a garen like many others in a countryside that is no longer a forest where you harvest beautiful but sterile fruits.
She drops the brush and pulls off her trousers. Under the trousers the figure hid a long white silk dress. The figure starts singing inside the building: «Do you know who I am? Please tell me who I am».
Then she walks out of the building and wait for the audience. She starts running on the parking lot where she has designed the new structure. Then she sends impulses to the audience with her hands, her body and her voice.
She stops in the middle of the structure, ties her hair in a chignon and puts a crown of flowers and natural elements on her head. She turns around and heads across the river into a green area visible from the yard in front of the Turbinehall. She walk around in the green area where she picks up edible wild plants.
